Noorfakhriah Yaakub graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in 2010. The first two years of her traffic engineering profession, she has been teaching the degree student in UTP on the subject as a research assistant/tutor. She currently has more than 8 years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning, and has involved in numerous Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA) studies and various Transport Master Plan studies in Malaysia. She is also a Senior Modeller for various Highways and Public Transport studies using Emme 4 software. Apart from traffic engineering and modelling jobs, she also teaches Emme 4 courses to government agencies and universities and become the local technical support for Emme users in Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore (Atur Trafik SB is the sole distributor for Emme softwares in this region).
Noorfakhriah is passionate about traffic planning and engineering since learning the subject during her second year in Civil Engineering degree and has since written papers about public buses performance in her hometown, Kota Bharu. Her papers were published in the International Journals of Engineering and Sciences (IJENS) and World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology (WASET).
She hopes the public and government gain more awareness of transportation issues and work together to the betterment of our transportation system for our future generation.
